Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Summit Digital ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in connection with the Charge for Stripe mobile application ("Charge" or "the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
1. Information We Collect
Charge is designed to collect and store as little data as possible. When you use the App, the following information may be collected or stored on your device:
- Stripe Account ID — When you connect your Stripe account via Stripe Connect, your Stripe account identifier is stored locally so the App can communicate with Stripe on your behalf.
- Locally Cached Data — Products, customers, and settings from your Stripe account are cached on your device using SwiftData to provide a fast, responsive experience.
- Stripe Credentials — Authentication credentials for your Stripe account are stored securely in the iOS Keychain on your device.
- App Usage Events — We record limited events such as app activation, connecting a Stripe account, and completing a first or second successful payment. These events do not include payment amounts, Stripe identifiers, card data, or customer information.
- Advertising Identifier — If you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, Meta may access your device's advertising identifier to measure which ads led to use of Charge.
We do not collect, access, or store personal payment card data. All payment card information is handled directly by Stripe and never passes through our systems.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information stored on your device is used solely to:
- Facilitate payment processing through your Stripe account via Stripe Connect.
- Display your products, customers, and transaction history within the App.
- Apply a 1% platform fee to transactions processed through the App.
- Understand app usage and measure the effectiveness of our advertising.
3. Data Storage
All data is stored locally on your device. Specifically:
- SwiftData is used to cache products, customers, and settings on your iPhone.
- iOS Keychain is used to securely store Stripe account credentials.
Our backend infrastructure runs on Cloudflare Workers. Requests are processed and forwarded to Stripe in real time. We may store limited data such as email addresses for transactional communications (e.g., receipts, account notifications).
4. Third-Party Services
Charge relies on the following third-party services:
- Stripe — All payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you use Charge, your payment data is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. Charge connects to your Stripe account via Stripe Connect.
- Apple App Store — The App is distributed through the Apple App Store, which is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Amplitude — We use Amplitude for anonymous product analytics to improve the App. Usage data is not linked to your identity. See Amplitude's Privacy Policy.
- Meta — We use Meta App Events to measure app advertising and understand high-level product adoption. With your App Tracking Transparency permission, Meta may use the advertising identifier for attributed measurement. If you decline, Charge keeps advertiser-ID collection disabled and sends only privacy-limited analytics and conversion events. See Meta's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — Our stateless backend runs on Cloudflare Workers. No user data is stored by Cloudflare on our behalf.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share only the limited information needed to provide payment processing, app analytics, and advertising measurement through the services described above. We never send Meta or Amplitude payment amounts, card data, Stripe identifiers, or customer information.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the information stored on your device. Stripe credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption. Locally cached data is stored using SwiftData on your device and is protected by your device's built-in security features, including passcode and biometric authentication.
7. Your Choices
You can disconnect your Stripe account from Charge at any time, which will remove your credentials from the App. You can also delete the App from your device, which will remove all locally stored data including cached products, customers, and settings.
You may decline Apple's tracking permission without losing any Charge functionality. You can review or change this choice in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
8. Children's Privacy
Charge is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove that information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other appropriate means. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
